EnRoute About
Seek More

En Route Traveler is an online resource that inspires wanderlust. Our mission is to create a forum where independent travelers can:

  • explore a place’s culture and environment in an authentic and responsible way
  • prepare for the journey with helpful tips and guides
  • discover affordable, mid-range travel ideas

We like to travel smart. We are a group of former hostelers and backpackers who seek memorable experiences and deep connections with the world around us. Though we don’t mind roughing it occasionally,  we’ve graduated to a stage in our lives where we also appreciate the comfort in unique, mid-range options. If you’re interested in submitting a story idea, please use the contact form at the bottom of this page to get in touch.

Lara Dalinsky | founding editor + creative director

Lara DalinskyLara loves the sense of discovery that comes with travel and has visited over 30 countries. It’s no surprise that Lara caught the travel bug at an early age; her mother’s job as a flight attendant enabled a childhood of exploring the globe. Eight years of attending the French International School outside of Washington, DC taught her a second language and introduced her to friends who came from a wide diversity of cultures and backgrounds. Lara recently relocated to Seoul, South Korea, for her husband’s job where she hopes to explore much of Asia for the next couple of years. In addition to being the founding editor of En Route Traveler, she also works as a freelance graphic designer and photographer to fund her adventures. In her spare time, she contributes as a Local Expert to AFAR Media, is an ambassador for FIG Clothing, enjoys vegetarian cuisine, instructs Zumba, practices yoga, and of course, travels as much as possible.

Kathleen Fleming | wellness  editor

Kathleen FlemingKathleen has traveled extensively through the United Kingdom, mainland Europe, Central America, South Africa, and Australia. She was fortunate that her parents loved traveling and encouraged exploration. From a young age, she and her sister were taken on many adventures all over the world. Kathleen has lived in South Africa, London, and Paris. After five years of being a stressed corporate lawyer, she gave it all up to move to Nicaragua where she trained as a yoga teacher and learned to surf. She and her boyfriend worked at the eco-lodge, Buena Vista Surf Club, on a hill above a beautiful beach where they witnessed many beautiful sunsets and met some awesome people (including Lara). Kathleen loves fitness, vegetarian cooking, contributing to the wellness blog, Hip and Healthy, and managing her own sites Yum Yoga and Super Fit and Super Food.
