Lioyerma Lounge Café Pool Bar in Oia, Santorini
At the northern edge of Oia lies Lioyerma, a breathtaking pool lounge and café, that overlooks the Aegean Sea. It is a peaceful refuge to escape the monstrous cruise crowds who storm the town in the afternoon. Bring some reading material and a camera, it’s difficult to leave leave this secluded oasis and you may decide to settle here for a few hours.
The pool is the largest in town. It is open to the public and makes its money off the purchases of refreshments and drinks by guests who linger to take a refreshing dip or soak in the spectacular views of the caldera. The lounge is aptly named—”Lioyerma” means sunset in Greek and its location on the western tip of the island makes it one of the best spots in Santorini to witness the day transition into twilight. Regardless what time you visit, the experience is sure to be magical.
To find this hidden treasure, walk the northern path along Oia’s caldera, past the second windmill until the walkway ends. It can also be accessed by car via the next parking lot north of Oia’s bus station.
