Bukchon Hanok Village
I traveled to Seoul to bring the new year in with style. During my visit, I looked at my list of things to do while in the country’s capital and Bukchon was at the top. I had heard that Bukchon Hanok Village was a neighborhood for Koreans who still follow a traditional way of life. I convinced my friends to go with me even though it was extremely cold outside. We wandered through the narrow lanes of the village, coming across little cafes and food stands. We finally came across this area that was purely hanoks (traditional Korean houses) just as the sun was setting. It was freezing, but it was beautiful.
