A Stay at Maison Vy in Hoi An, Vietnam

Stay: Maison Vy in Hoi An, Vietnam

Maison Vy is one of those rare finds located only somewhere like Vietnam where travel can be both affordable and luxurious. It’s set up to be a home-away-from-home, with creature comforts designed to pamper weary travelers. The hotel is part of the Ms.Vy brand – the family-owned, creative force that also operates several of Hoi An’s best restaurants and cooking schools like Morning Glory, Cargo Club, and Vy’s Market (prepare to sample some delectable treats). With decades of experience in the hospitality industry, expect fastidious attention to detail and a first-class experience .

Minimalist global chic

The hotel is conveniently located on a major road only a few blocks outside of Hoi An’s famous Ancient Town – about a five-minute walk. It’s one kilometer to the Central Market and a little over four kilometers to the beach.

Maison Vy Standard Room

Maison Vy Courtyard

Maison Vy offers a variety of guest rooms that range from standard to multi-level deluxe family suites. They vary in size but all include a:

  • flat-screen TV with cable
  • double-glazed soundproof windows
  • air conditioning and ceiling fan
  • minibar access and free bottled water
  • housekeeping service
  • tea, coffee, and electric kettle
  • umbrellas
  • slippers
  • complimentary Wi-Fi
  • herbal infused toiletries
  • balcony, terrace, or garden seating spaces

We stayed in a stylish, 23-square meter standard room with a plush king-sized bed. Rooms feel fresh with crisp white walls and bed linens offset by a cobalt accent wall and modern, lime green accessories. The furniture is sturdy and in excellent condition, nothing looks worn or tattered.

The bathroom is adorned with classic bronze fixtures, plump towels, and both a rainshower and hand-held shower head. There’s a large cabinet area with built in shelves where guests can hold luggage and keep clothes.

  • complimentary gourmet breakfast plus afternoon tea and snack buffet
  • evening herbal foot baths left in the room (wonderful after a long day walking)

Maison Vy Dinner

Maison Vy Dining Room

The longer guests stay at the hotel, the more privileges they accrue. For our two night stay, we received free laundry cleaning, airport pick-up, and an delicious family-style dinner (which was made vegetarian upon request).

The service was impeccable. We were always greeted warmly by staff in the lobby and café. When we informed the front desk that our flight did not leave until midnight, they were happy to extend our checkout to 5:00 pm, store our luggage, and arrange transportation.
